VA BIRDers,
A quick note: in the early morning Huntley Meadows boardwalk area produced
only Wood Duck, Mallard and Hooded Merganser - the latter had about 6 really
big merglets. Despite a search, no bitterns or rails.
At Occoquan Marina I re-found the Ring-necked Duck (male) that I saw last
week. There was also a Caspian Tern.
At the Dyke Marsh Stone Bridge about 5pm there was Gadwall (male) and
American Black Duck plus Wood Ducks and Mallards. No shorebirds noted.
