This afternoon around 3:40 the Loggerhead Shrike was located at the third
turnaround on the LEFT side as you drive into Ashville Park. He was perched
in a tree on the rise of the hill and flew down into the field to perch on
a tall weedy plant. Tom and I were happy to meet up with Beth & Keith who
also saw the bird :-)
I have posted some pictures (although not as good as the ones I got last
November) along with some pictures of an Osprey we saw earlier at Mackey
Island NWR. We bumped into Peggy Waterfield and she told us the Osprey
winters over there. Look in the album for the pic. with the buggy eyes...it
is so funny looking!
