I missed a call and this is taken from the voicemail left by Allen Larner,
who is leading a field trip there today. They started at Margaret O'Bryan's
place, and just up the road they found the LEOW. It was sitting by the
road. From voice mail here is what to look for if you want to go: just
after leaving Margaret's place there's a curve in the road, yellow no
trespassing sign to the right, a pile of rocks with wildflowers/columbine
growing out of it, across the road in the trees is a ditch-this is the area
where the owl was seen. This is all I know. Margaret's place is on 640, if
I remember correctly, but don't quote me on that. I haven't been there. I
did not go on this trip because radar showed several hours of storms moving
over the area and I got about 2 inches of rain and power outages here.
Later the radar magically cleared.
