Hi all,
The highlight of the morning at Huntley Meadows was two Long-billed
Dowitchers. I say Long-billed because it was freshwater and far
inland, but I know that's not good enough to decide between the two.
They were way across the main body of water as viewed from the tower
and I forgot my scope. Definitely dowitchers, but they weren't
calling so I didn't have that to help me and they were just beyond the
reach of my binoculars for a good enough study.
Did anyone else get a good look at them? There were plenty of birders
there this morning, and lots of you had scopes. I'd love to hear your
thoughts.
We saw eight species of warbler including:
Pine
Palm
Black-throated Blue (female)
Magnolia
Chestnut-sided
B&W
American Redstart (2 yellowstarts)
Common Yellowthroat
