On Saturday, November 13th, a male Long-tailed Duck in winter plummage
was swimming in the Potomac River, on the Arlington, Virginia, side of
Roosevelt Island. This came as quite a surprise to me as did not expect to
see such a bird so far inland. Has anyone else seen these birds in our area?
