Love is in the air at Huntley Meadows Park. Today I photographed pair of
northern flickers -- the female was chiseling out a nest hole -- and a pair of
downy woodpeckers "playing tag." I also saw a yellow-billed cuckoo and a
Carolina wren up close, a female kingfisher, a hummingbird at its jewelweed
banquet, one red-headed woodpecker, 5 red-bellied woodpeckers, 3 great egrets,
2 great blue herons, an unknown warbler, several very young bluebirds with
their parents, and more.
