Evening,
I was sitting in the parking lot at Lowes in
Charlottesville today about 1230 watching four Turkey
Vultures soaring on the thermals.
All of a sudden, 16 Red-tail Hawks rose out of the
trees and rode the same thermal up over Lowes. One by
one they reached the top of the thermal and glided
south over Charlottesville.
This coincides with the large number of Red-tails seen
in migration recently at Rockfish Gap.
