Birds at Sky Meadows State Park in Delaplane today â on the mulberry tree &
beyond â included a pair of red-headed woodpeckers flying bugs & berries to
their nest (which was across from a great-crested flycatcherâs nest); a
stunning meadowlark; adult & immature male orchard orioles on creeping thistle
flowers; Baltimore Oriole in the tree top; gobs of swallows, indigo buntings,
goldfinches, & bluebirds; and these chaps on the mulberry tree: female orchard
oriole; blue grosbeak; red-headed, downy & red-bellied woodpeckers; brown
thrasher; catbird; cardinals; cedar waxwings; robins; and more. The
mulberries are dwindling but still ripe for birders to visit!
