Species observed by Dave Wendelken and I today included one northbound
Broad-winged Hawk, Blue-headed Vireos (3) and a singing Winter Wren. We
didn't relocate Black-and-White Warbler (reported locally by Greg Moyers
yesterday,) but had no trouble re-finding LA Waterthrushes, Pine Warblers and
both kinglets.
We hiked in about two miles. Found five or six wildflower species in bloom and
spotted lots of butterflies -- Eastern Pine Elfin (one), lots of Spring Azures,
E. Commas, Duskywings (Juevenal's and Sleepy, I believe,) and Mourning Cloaks.
