Hello Virginia Birders:
With the OK from the list manager, I am writing to tell you about a great
birding, natural history and horticultural trip to Ecuador in March 2012.
We are taking a small group of just 16 people, in order to keep the trip
intimate.
We will visit public and private gardens, historic Colonial Quito, Otavalo
indigenous market, orchid preserves and forests filled with birds and
exotic plants. There are nearly 1600 birds in Ecuador, and 130 hummingbirds.
On the west slope of the Andes, we will visit Mindo, a world biodiversity
hotspot. On the east slope, we are staying at San Isidro, an amazing
ecoreserve on a former cattle ranch. I hope that you will consider joining us.
Please contact me off list if you are interested at: _nldr@aol.com_
