Visited three spots on Mason Neck this morning: Great Marsh Trail, Mason Neck
NWR; Mason Neck SP Visitor's Center; and Pohick By Regional Park.
Great Marsh held numerous Tundra Swans and Black Ducks, with three
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers on the way back to the parking lot. The bay at Mason
Neck SP had a huge raft of 3000-4000 Am. Coots with many Gadwall, Am. Wigeon,
Redhead, and Ruddy Ducks mixed in. Not much at Pohick Bay except for a raft of
~500 Am. Coots and Bald Eagles.
Aggregate list for all three locations below; the breakdown can be found on the
eBird checklists.
