A short walk thru the grounds of the Meadow Farm Museum early this morning,
12/13/2003, yielded the following birds.
1 Great Blue Heron
2 Turkey Vulture
1 Red-shouldered Hawk
1 Barred Owl
1 Hairy Woodpecker
4 Carolina Wren
17 Cedar Waxwing
14 Dark-eyed Junco
8 White-throated Sparrows
The area is sandy with many short scrubby pine trees and occasional oaks and
maples. The Great Blue Heron was a surprise as were the absence of Northern
Cardinals and Winter Wrens.
The Meadow Farm Museum is located in Glen Allen, Virginia, on Mountain Road.
