with low-lying scattered valley fog which was pushed by winds across Clinch
Mt from Mendota side to Moccasin side by 9 am
9 am-1 mph wind NE, 71F temp, 96% humidity, 30.08 pressure, mostly cloudy
with broken areas of sky
11 am- 2 mph wind E, 72F temp, 94% humidity, 30.08 pressure, mostly cloudy
with broken areas of sky
1 pm- 5 mph wind WSW, 86F temp, 64% humidity, 30.06 pressure, thickening of
clouds, no shadows from sun, hardly any broken areas of sky
2 pm- 6 mph wind W, 86F temp, 62% humidity, 30.04 pressure, mostly cloudy
Raptor Observations:
8-9am: BW�0,
9-10am: BW-39, -- birds below, at, and barely above eye level (first
observed BW 10 Mendota side)
10-11: BW-85,
11-12: BW-85, Cooper-3,
12-1: BW-104 BWs were on both sides of mountain, near the limit of unaided
vision, some requiring binoculars.Some were low, just above eye level
1-2 pm: BW-45, 1 red tail- it kited for several seconds before going west-
spectacular show!, sharp shin-1,
2-3 pm: BW-2, Osprey-1. By 2 the birds were well below eye level
3-4 pm: No birds were seen
Non-raptor Observations:
Monarch Butterflies: 22
Predictions:
Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain. More hawks are in the "pipeline"
and should be moving if at all possible.
