This morning there was a female Red-belly Woodpecker on the feeder outside
my kitchen window. It's her first appearance since last fall. The male on
the other hand has been coming every day all winter long. (Of course I'm
just assuming it's the same bird.) No female showed up the previous winter
either. Does anyone know why?
