Eighteen birders led by Elton Morel and Frances Raskin found 68 bird species on
a cold and windy Saturday morning at Occoquan NWR. Highlights were 2
Bonaparte's Gulls flying over Belmont Bay, flybys of both Northern Rough-winged
and Tree Swallows, several good looks at Golden-crowned Kinglets and many Cedar
Waxwings, a Winter Wren, a Palm Warbler near the end of Easy Road, excellent
scope views of an immature White-crowned Sparrow on Delta Road near the
junction with Charlie Road, and a brief sighting of a Northern Parula on Deep
Hole Road on the NE side of the junction with Easy Road. Many thanks go to
Marc Ribaudo and Linda Chittum for spotting some good birds for us.

Found near the junction of Deep Hole Road and Easy Road. Saw a small,

disappeared and was not refound.
