Greetings to all:
A new part of the Tobacco Heritage Trail is going to open during the month
of June in Halifax County-South Boston VA.
The trail is 2.4 miles long and runs from a new Cotton Mill Park in South
Boston to the Berry Hill Plantation in Halifax County. The trail will have
some sunny stretches as well as some shady stretches and views of the Dan
River and a duck pond that is to be completed.
This should be a good place to do some birding in the area as there are few
places to bird in Halifax County that one can walk and enjoy the out doors
other than the two state parks that are over 20 miles from South Boston.
