Greetings all,
I am one of the volunteer eBird editors for Virginia and I wanted to let you
know that is a new hotspot for the Mississippi Kites being seen at the
intersection of Gaines Street and Jackson Street in Burke, VA. The new hotspot
is named "Gaines Street- Mississippi Kite Spot".
For those who use eBird, I encourage you to utilize the hotspot when submitting
checklists for this location. For previously submitted checklists, I encourage
you to edit your checklists and change your location to utilize the hotspot.
This can be accomplished by opening your checklist under "Manage My
Observations" and click "Edit Location" at the top of the page. This will bring
you back to the main "Submit Observations" page. If you select "Find it on a
Map" and type in "Gaines Street, Burke" you can then locate the newly created
hotspots on the map.
It may take up to 12 hours for the new hotspot to appear in eBird, so it might
not be visible at the moment. If you are unable to locate the hotspot by
tomorrow afternoon, please let me know.
I will be sending a form email to individuals who have submitted checklists for
this location to encourage everyone to edit the checklist location to utilize
the hotspot.
Thanks,
Perri
