If you haven't visited the national eBird website recently, it's worth checking
for two items posted this part week.
First, there is a feature on how to document rarities at
http://ebird.org/content/ebird/news/reporting_rarities/ - this is well worth ;
reading, particularly if you are reporting a rarity to VARCOM.
The second feature is the latest global version of the eBird checklist at
http://ebird.org/content/ebird/news/taxonomy-updating-now/ which will be of ;
particular interest to world birders and also those who have birded in the
Western US. I haven't taken a look at it yet to see what I've gained or lost
from my world checklist!
