Some recent arrivals:
Northern Pintail, 8/29 over Leesylvania SP flying up the Neabsco
Northern Shoveler, 8/29 Accotink Bay (Ft Belvoir)
Green-winged Teal (4), 8/29 Accotink Bay
Ruddy Duck, 8/28 Hunting Creek Bay
I also went looking for shorebirds at Accotink Bay near low tide today. Slim
Pickin's - yellowlegs. thats it. Also noted 75 Forster's Terns, several Great
Egrets and 11 Bald Eagles, incl 2 very dark brown-black hatch year birds.
Really amazing birds. Nearly all were perched on the mud and appeared to be
waiting for a carp to swim into their claws.
