A few brave souls came out tonight for the annual Swift/Nighthawk watch in
spite of the threatening rain. As it turned out both the weather and the
swifts co-operated beautifully. We had circa 1,800 swifts at the chimney
near
the Walter Reed Recreation center in south Arlington. After the swift
show, a few of us went down to the Air Force Memorial where we found three
Nighthawks before the rain started.
