Dear VA-BIRDers,
My friend in Brooklyn has a 3-year-old son who has recently become
absolutely obsessed with birds, to the point where lately he will only
wear those of his t-shirts that have birds on them. Specifically, he is
obsessed with the Red-winged Blackbird.
After replying to her, "Aha! The Audubon Society Conspiracy has captured
another innocent soul," I did suggest that she buy him the squeezable,
singing RWB toy from Wild Republic, but she's looking for a book that
prominently features the RWB. She's buying a field guide anyway, but of
course the pictures in those are non-huge. Is there any book you might
recommend (is there, although this is a long shot, a children's book?)
that stars the RWB? I mean, I think this is an obsession we ought to cultivate.
Thanks in advance,
Gwyn McVay (also sucked in very early in life)
