I was able to get out and bird a bit this afternoon at Lake Fredrick and Blandy
Farm. Lake Fredrick had good waterfowl variety with 8 Lesser Scaup, 1 Ruddy
Duck, 15 Horned Grebes, and a Common Loon. I was unable to refind the Vesper
Sparrows at Blandy but I did see seven Rusty Blackbirds in the flooded grassy
area across the road from Rattlesnake Spring. There was also a singing Pine
Warbler and the Brown Thrashers and Eastern Towhees are back in full force.
