I have walked to and from work at Flint Hill School through Oak Marr Park for
the past two days (Nov 13, 14) and have found 44 species. The highlights were
....
1. amazing looks at a merlin this morning in beautiful light, perched on a dead
tree snag at the edge of the putting practice green of Oak Marr
2. two pipits flying over the FHS west campus calling yesterday
3. a purple finch flying over oak marr calling today
4. a red-breasted nuthatch at the western border of the FHS west campus
yesterday (surprisingly, not in the pines)
5. two fox sparrows yesterday and three today in the small patch of woods
between the parking lots of Oak Marr and the FHS west campus.
6. A barred owl this morning chased by crows close overhead and perching nearby
in the oak marr woods
7. five killdeer chased from the FHS west campus baseball field by crows
8. a flock of 15 cedar waxwings
9. lingering swamp sparrow, chipping sparrow, towhee, and yellow-rumped warbler
10. two hermit thrushes
All the best
