Spent two hours on this gorgeous dewy morning very thoroughly searching for
birds in the tiny Waples Mill Park at the intersection of Waples Mill and Fox
Mill Rd. I was hoping for rarities like sedge wren or marsh wren (found here
last fall) but instead found house wrens everywhere (14). The only warblers
were 2 yellow-rumpeds and 8 yellowthroats. Also present were my first of season
yellow-bellied sapsucker and ruby-crowned kinglets (4), as well as a Lincoln's
sparrow, 9 wood ducks, 21 catbirds, a veery and a swainson's thrush.
