Lynn and I visited the woods north of Jermantown Road, west of the Oak Marr Rec
Center, today between 3-4 PM under heavy overcast skies.
Best bird was a Blue-Headed Vireo at eye level.
We did not see anything unusual, except a wealth of birds well within the
woods. Normally at this location I only see 1-2 birds inside the woods, and
most of the variety is around the edges. Today, most of the list below
appeared down low, and "deep" (-ish) within the woods. Two large flocks
entirely within the woods were dominated by Juncos, Robins, Cardinals,
White-Throated and Chippies, and Waxwings.
Seemed like the birds had been watching the Weather Channel, and they were
hunkering down before the possible winter storm.
