Spent from 7:15 to about noon on Easy Road, Deep Hole Point Road and Fox
Road. Filled up 3 pages in my little note pad - about 40 species.
Of note:
Warbling vireo - on nest in sycamore on Easy Road
White-eyed vireo
Blackpoll Warbler - abundant
Red-eyed Vireo
Yellow Warbler - abundant
Orchard Oriole
Eastern Bluebird
American Redstart
Common Yellowthroat -lots
Prothonotary Warbler - saw only one, although 5 seen a week ago in the same
area (Easy Road at Deep Hole Point Road)
King Rail
Prairie Warblers - along Fox Road
Yellow-breasted Chat - on Fox Road
A flock of Cedar Waxwings feasting in a tree near the pond at the parking
lot
From Occoquan I went on to Leesylvania - not much activity in the middle ofthe day, except for black-throated blue warbler on the Lee historic trail.
