VA Birders,
Nice morning at Occoquan NWR with sparrows in abundance, including
Fox, Savannah, American Tree, and Towhee. The Belmont and Occoquan Bays
were empty of all waterfowl, except for 130 Ruddies in front of the
gazebo and a Pied-billed Grebe off Deephole Point. I could see some
Canadas all the way across Belmont Bay in front of Mason Neck State
Park and possibly a couple of Bufflehead. I hope there will be more
waterfowl to count on Sunday during the Fort Belvoir CBC.
