This afternoon around 3:30 p.m., in the gypsy-moth chewed area on the
deer trail, I heard the "Quick, three beers!" of an Olive-sided several
times, but was unable to locate him. This seems to be pretty early for
them. Also in the same area, saw and heard singing a blue-gray
gnatcatcher, and observed a large, red fox with a long, and essentially
hairless tail except for a little white tuft of hair at the end.
Earlier, I saw a solitary sandpiper near the boardwalk as you
first come out onto it.
