Hi -- Around dawn earlier this week in the Franklin Farm par of Herndon (Ffx Co), I heard a flock of Canada Geese honking in the distance. I looked up at the flock and was surprised to see that half of the flock's "V" was made up of Canada Geese (about 15), but the other half of the V was made up a some type of gull. (It was pretty distant and I'm not the best gull IDer, so I'm not sure what they were exactly.) There were about 40 of the gulls -- about 25-30 made up the second side of the V, the rest were just randomly along for the ride.

I've been birding about 8+ years and this was the first time I had seen two different species coordinating to create a single flight formation. Anyone out there have any experience with something like this?
