After a relatively uneventful day at Dick Cross WMA and Kerr Reservoir in
Mecklenburg County (best bird was a male PURPLE FINCH), Tina Trice and I
were delighted to come across an adult ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER while birding
my mother's yard in Lunenburg County.
The Selasphorus hummingbird continues at my feeder on Smith Grove Rd.
Yesterday, banders attempted to capture the bird but things didn't work
out. They plan to try again next Saturday. Good birding.
