We had 6 birders come out for the Southside Bird Club monthly Riverwalk Trail
walk on Saturday 3/12. We observed 41 species with quite a hawk showing right
at the end of the walk. The Osprey was back on it's nest. 4 Red-tailed Hawks,
2 Sharp-shinned, 1 Coopers and a Red-shouldered put on quite a show all in the
same general location within a few minutes of each other. We also had a Raven
circling overhead about the same time. A noticeable lack of Kinglets
though...anyone else have the same experience lately? We talked about having
had more Golden-crowned earlier in the winter than Ruby-crowned when it's
usually the other way around. And the Tree Swallows are back as well.
