After receiving two phone calls from an excited visiting relative, I along with
Alex Minarik observed a male PAINTED BUNTING at a feeder at a private residence
in a gated community in Williamsburg Thursday afternoon.
I was able to get several good photos because the feeders were within three
feet of the bay window in the breakfast nook! No binoculars needed.
This was the first day the bird has been observed. We observed him come to the
feeders three times between 2:00 and 2:30 pm.
Here's hoping he will hang around for our CBC Sunday, December 20.
The location is not very good for visitors to wait around to see the bird.
