Hello all
This morning when I opened up my e - mail there was a message of a Painted
Bunting coming to a feeder in the Verona area . I called the member of our club
who wanted me to join them in looking for this bird . But I was at work & I
told her to go & see if it was around & give me directions . She missed the
bird this morning & after work I arrived around 2 :40ish pm & within a minute I
found the bird at the back feeder of black oil sunflower seed . The owner of
the house came out & we chatted a little & she invited me in to get a better
look at the male Painted Bunting . I asked her about letting other birder come
& view the bird & she told me that she wanted to share the bird with others .
This bird was first seen on Dec. 10th around 9am & it was missed on our CBC .
The Bunting came around yesterday for the second sighting & it was around 2 pm
. This afternoon I took a hopefully beginning birder friend of mine over & the
Bunting was again seen at 4: 15 pm . The hostess to the Painted Bunting is
Chris Waldrop & her phone numbers are -- home - 540 -- 248 -- 0305 & cell --
540 -- 487 -- 9167 . She told me if you call & do not get a answer to come on
out . She will be home all day tomorrow .
