Went looking for migrants at Great Falls NP this afternoon. I found three
spiffy, yellow Palm Warblers which I watched for several minutes (all three
in one tree for a bit).
One was very yellow with a very brown cap. A striking bird. Also many
Yellow-rump Warblers, some Phoebes, a calling hen Wood Duck (in the pond)
and a bunch of bluebirds.
I also had a male Eastern (Rufous-sided) Towhee, and a couple of Chipping
Sparrows in my Falls Church yard over the weekend.
Here comes spring!
