Larry Cartwright tells me that Huntley Meadows Staff has a record of a
Red-necked Phalarope sighted at the Park in 2003, and that there may have been
earlier sightings as well. So, my breathless claim in yesterday's Huntely
Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk of first sighting at Huntley was perhaps
somewhat overwrought.
(If you repeat 'Phalarope Follow-up' over and over quickly, it resembles the
sound a train makes on the tracks: phalaropefollowup, phalaropefollowup.)
