At Occoquan this morning there were two parties of American Pipits
(totaling just 8 birds), a fine male Northern Harrier, a couple of Fox
Sparrows and two Horned Grebes. Back near the parking lot there was a
flock of 35 Rusty Blackbird.
At Masons Neck, amongst the Lesser Scaup there were 8 Canvasback, a
single male Redhead and another Horned Grebe. The large are of grass
near the visitors center held of flock of 24 American Pipits
