Sorry for delay in posting,
But I saw two Geese this morning at 8:35 on the pond at the intersection of
Beulah and Trap Roads. There were cars behind me and I was running late
for a meeting, so I could not stop to confirm what I glimpsed:
Two Canada Geese on the pond of remarkably different sizes. The smaller
goose looked to me like its cheek marking was different. I could not see
them clearly enough, while driving, to see if the bill size on the smaller
goose indicated it was Cackling Goose.
If any body is in the Vienna area and can sneak out to go take a look,
please let us know. I was kicking myself for not making the time to go over
to Lake Fairfax when Cackling was seen there.
