Hello all
This morning Pat & I made a trip up to the Green Valley Book Fair & afterwards
we went over to Lenard's pond on Rt. 768 in Rockingham County to see what
shorebirds could be found . Well the following shorebirds were present as we
left at 11 :30am .
Killdeer -- 4
Solitary -- 4
Spotted -- 3
Least -- 1
Baird's -- 1 -- This bird has a buffy breast , eye line , checkered pattern to
the back , blackish leg color , wing tips extends over the tail .
I only have seen this bird one time & that was last year in the same place .
All of the field guides I have looked at points to a Baird's Sandpiper . Happy
birding to all.
