Tonight Sue Ridd and I were both unable to get there in time to start
estimating the number of birds going into the trees, so instead we compared
notes on various flocks and waves and were pleased to find that we are very
close on most everything. It is interesting to see that the overall numbers
may have almost doubled since yesterday. I arrived too late yesterday also,
but the overall impression was that they had increased since the day before
when I came up with an estimate of 3650. The birds took up big sky from
horizon to horizon east of the roost tonight-very nice to see. We are going
to make a valiant effort to arrive extra early tomorrow evening
(7:15-7:30ish) so we don't miss anything. Come on down!
