Hello all
While checking a few ponds instead of yard work --- I found an Eared Grebe on
the pond behind the McCune's home . ( Better known as McCune's Pond ) Any way I
asked Mr. McCune's permission for the birders & he stated that it is ok to come
in & check out the pond from the fence behind their house . You will need a
scope to view this bird . Getting there -- from I 64 get off of exit 91 &
follow Rt. 285 / 608 North to Rt. 250 turn left 250 W go under RR bridge & at
stop light turn right onto Rt. 608 North ( Long Medow RD . ) . Go about half
mile & turn right onto Rt. 796 Kiddsville Rd. Go just over a mile (1 .1 ) & you
will see a black board fence & driveway is lined with White Pine trees . From I
81 go to exit 222 & take Rt. 250 East go past these land marks 7 - 11 store ,
Woodrow Wilson Rehab Center , & when you get to County Library turn left &
follow above directions . Good Luck to all .
