Following last week's good birding at Accotink Bay on Ft. Belvoir, I decided to give it a bit more time today. Birds were active all morning and I encountered 16 species of Warbler, the highlight of which was a singing Cape May in a treetop just before the descent down the hill to the bay. A Chestnut-sided was singing nearby and sat up nicely (camera in car, or course) for a good view. A highly cooperative Prothonotary Warbler gave good picture ops along Accotink Creek Trail, near the suspension pedestrian bridge. The big highlight was a Redhead in the bay with a Ruddy Duck and a Coot. Could this be the same Redhead that Kurt Gaskill has been seeing a few miles south in Belmont Bay? Most of the birds were seen on the loop around the bay and up the hill, plus Basin Trial near the archery range and Accotink Creek Trail.

Complete list is below.
