I ventured way down the informal trail that heads off at the end of the
boardwalk and went down toward the Coast Guard station about mid-morning
today. Highlights included a single adult Red-headed Woodpecker about a
half-mile down the trail at the "3rd impoundment". I went until the trail
crossed the stream. Other highlights included 4 Fox Sparrows and 5 Field
Sparrows, all of which were near the farthest part of the informal trail.
Notable misses were Yellow-rumped Warblers, Hermit Thrushes and Ruby-crowned
Kinglets. It was a nice day for a long walk and the highlight birds were a
real treat. A few photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/daveboltz/ when I
post them in a few minutes. It will be the first 8 or 10 photos on the link.
