I saw an immature Red-headed Woodpecker (possibly 2) at Algonkian Regional
Park, the first of that species I have ever seen in this location. The bird
was along the south side of the golf course, not far from the Hole 1 green.
The bird appeared to be pulling acorns from a Willow Oak and caching them in
one or two dead trees nearby.
