[va-bird] Red-necked Grebes Riverbend Park 3/13/07

There were two RED-NECKED GREBES south of the Riverbend Park Visitors'  
Center this Tuesday afternoon.  Also present were two male RED-BREASTED  
MERGANSERS 
and an immature TUNDRA SWAN.  FISH CROWS were  calling. Water birds observed 
and approximate  numbers seen:
 
RED-NECKED GREBE 2
D-C CORMORANT 3
GREAT BLUE HERON 3
CANADA GEESE 50
WOOD DUCK 6
MALLARD 7
RING-NECKED DUCK 25
COMMON MERGANSER 30
RED-BREASTED MERGANSER 2
BUFFLEHEAD 15
RING-BILLED GULL 100+
