I took my scope and binos to work today in order to seek out the Long-tailed
Duck spotted a couple of days ago in Burke Lake. No sign of said duck, and
only 2 pair of Ruddies, 1 pair of mallards, and the usual contingent of Canada
Geese and Ring-billed Gulls. A pair of Winter Wrens was a treat, however.
On the way home I stopped by Kingstowne Lake and counted 59 Ring-necked Ducks,
along with 8 Hooded Mergansers, the usual contingent of Canada Geese, and NO
Mallards.
