Following is the tally from the October 26 bird walk at Riverbend Park, which
identified approximately 22 species on an overcast, chilly day, with rain in
the forecast. Highlights included a Brown Creeper, an Eastern Towhee, and a
flock of White-throated Sparrows; and an adult Bald Eagle was observed in
flight, heading upriver. Today's walk -- the last for the 2018 season --
encompassed the forested Hollows Trail and a portion of the Potomac Heritage
Trail along the river.
