Twelve birders were on hand in the Riverbend meadow for a good warbler wave
which started shortly after 7:00 this Sunday morning. At least 11 species of
warblers were present including: Tennessee, Nashville, No. Parula,
Chestnut-sided, Magnolia (10 or more), Black-throated Blue, Black-throated
Green,
Blackburnian, Black and White, and Common Yellowthroat. The foraging activity
stretched out until about 9 AM.
Also seen were Y-B Cuckoo, Chimney Swift, R-T Hummingbird, Northern Flicker,
Eastern Wood-Pewee, R-E Vireo, Blue Jay, House Wren, B-G Gnatcatcher, Gray
Catbird, Northern Mockingbird, Am.Robin, Eastern Bluebird, Cedar Waxwing,
Scarlet
Tanager, Indigo Bunting, Baltimore Oriole, American Goldfinch, as well as the
resident woodpeckers and woodland birds.
