Walked along the Potomac at Riverbend Park with a couple of friends again
this afternoon.
We saw about 8-10 Ruddy Ducks, 8-10 Gadwall, 4-6 Pied-billed Grebes, a single
Horned Grebe, a quite resplendent male Hooded Merganser, 30 to 40 Bufflehead,
some Black Ducks, some Mallards, and lots of Canada geese.
Along the trail we found two Hermit Thrushes and a number of Golden-Crowned
Kinglets.
It will be very interesting to see what this big cold front this weekend
brings in.
