Huge numbers of Gadwall continue at Riverside Park, Alexandria off the GW
Parkway. Other birds mixed in today included: Redheads (6), Canvasback (2),
Lesser Scaup (~20), Red-breasted Merganser (10), Common Merganser (1 male in
channel), Bufflehead (~100), 1 Ruddy, a few Mallards, lots of Canadas, 5
Tundra Swans (close to shore), 8 coots.
There were likely more numbers and other species mixed in. I did not have a
scope, and light was failing. Overall, there were many more birds than two
weeks ago.
