Weather:
A rain system that was forecast to bring rain to our area remained mostly
to our south but there were plenty of dark, looming clouds at Rockfish Gap
all day with very light drizzles between 1-1:30pm. Light SE Breezes all
morning then light and variable breezes in the afternoon. 13.2-17.3C.
Clear visibility.
Raptor Observations:
So. Very. Slow. One Northern Harrier between 9-10am and three afternoon
Sharp-shinned Hawks. Even the Vulture activity was low today.
Non-raptor Observations:
Another very good non-raptor flight that absolutely out-preformed the
raptors. Birds counted flying over today included 1 Herring Gull, a flock
of 11 Ring-billed Gulls, 599 American Robins, 1,728 Cedar Waxwings, 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler, 156 Red-winged Blackbird, 2 Common Grackle, and 68
American Goldfinches.
Predictions:
Mostly sunny, upper-60s, east wind.
